About

The year 2025 marks the 100 years of the development of modern quantum mechanics since Heisenberg published his seminal paper in 1925. Recognizing the impact of quantum science and technologies in present day world UNESCO declared 2025 as "The International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025)". Quantum science & Technology has dramatically reshaped our understanding of the universe, offering insights into the behavior of particles at atomic and subatomic levels. As quantum technologies continue to evolve, they hold the potential to revolutionize fields such as computing, communication, and sensing, ushering in advancements that could have a profound impact on our society.

In view of these global trends, the Union Cabinet has recently launched the "National Quantum Mission", aimed at accelerating awareness and nurturing a robust ecosystem for quantum technologies within the country.
To join these global initiatives, the Department of Applied Sciences at IIIT Allahabad, in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune, will organize a 2-day symposium and workshop on Quantum Science & Technology. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge developments in quantum science and technology, discuss challenges and opportunities, and collaborate with experts. Additionally, IIIT Allahabad is set to launch a Master's program in Quantum Information and Technologies.
Let's work together to inspire the next generation of quantum scientists and innovators, shaping the future of technology and innovation!
