5-Day Symposium and Training Workshop on Quantum Information & Technologies, July 24 - 28, 2025

The Department of Applied Sciences, IIIT Allahabad, in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune, successfully organized a 5-Day Symposium and Training Workshop on Quantum Information & Technologies (QIT). The event brought together students, researchers, and experts to explore cutting-edge developments in quantum science and emerging quantum technologies.

The symposium was designed to impart knowledge to young learners about the pivotal role of quantum science in understanding the fundamental aspects of nature and in giving rise to technologies that have shaped modern society. The program also highlighted the vast potential and future prospects of quantum-enabled technologies.

Participants were exposed to a blend of expert talks and hands-on training sessions, enabling them to gain first-hand experience with a wide range of applications in quantum information and technologies. The event fostered meaningful academic discussions and collaboration among participants and domain experts.

2-Day symposium and Workshop on Quantum Science and Technology, March 17 - 18, 2025

This two-day symposium and workshop was jointly organized by the Department of Applied Sciences, IIIT Allahabad, and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune. The program provided participants with a valuable opportunity to engage with cutting-edge developments in quantum science and technologies, while discussing key challenges, opportunities, and future directions in the field. Through expert talks and hands-on sessions, students and young researchers gained first-hand exposure to quantum-enabled technologies and their wide-ranging applications. The event also highlighted IIIT Allahabad's initiative to launch a Master's program in Quantum Information and Technologies, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to capacity building and advanced education in this emerging domain.


Emerging Trends of Quantum Science and Technology, December 14, 2024

This symposium brought together students, researchers, and faculty to explore recent developments in quantum computing, quantum information, and quantum technologies. The event featured invited talks by Prof. Aditi Sen De (HRI Allahabad) and Prof. Ranjit Kumar Nanda (IIT Madras), who shared insights into key areas such as quantum computation, quantum information theory, quantum cryptography, and quantum materials and devices. The discussions highlighted both fundamental advances and technological perspectives, while also emphasizing India's growing focus on quantum research under the National Quantum Mission. Overall, the symposium served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary interaction, and inspiration for young students and researchers interested in contributing to the rapidly evolving quantum ecosystem.
